Celine Dion, Internet Microshows, Afrin Addiction and my armpits.

You know how in google talk (and probably in other IM services) you can have it show your current music track?

Sometimes I want to play something like Celine Dion and leave it on - just so it'll look like I'm rockin' out to that French Canadian diva.

You never know.

In case you're not addicted yet - Clark & Michael have a new episode posting at midnight tonight. That gives you plenty of time to get caught up.

Speaking of addiction... my Dad's addicted to Afrin right now. Scary stuff. Have you or do you know anyone who has experienced this? It sucks. Seriously. Read the warning about not using it more than 3 days in a row. Your body stops responding normally to it and ends up needing it in order for you to be able to breathe.

In doing a little internet research, it looks like there are two solutions. One if to start using a steroid nasal spray. The other is to start diluting the Afrin with saline solution.

Sinus and nasal issues suck. I'm coming out as a neti pot user. I've been a user for about a year now. I don't use it every day, but whenever I start to feel a little tickle or sniffly in my nose I use it. I love it. Yes, it's a little weird at first. And it looks stranger than it feels. After I use it I always feel like I just got out of a pool. And I can breathe better than ever. I'm always like, "wow, this is what breathing is supposed to feel like."

Speaking of my hippy tendencies, I'm also trying to wean myself off propylene glycol. I've been using an aluminum and paraben free deodorant for about a month or more now. And it's been working well. But my Trader Joe's DO still has this propylene crap in it. So I bought some Nature's Gate at Whole Foods today. So far I love the lavender scent - and I love the idea that I'm lowering my personal dependency on petroleum based products. I may be a little more prone to getting stinky by the end of the day - but it's worth it knowing that I'm not rubbing toxic solutions on delicate skin right next to lymph glands. Especially after watching my Grandmother (and her kids) suffer through her battle with Alzheimer's.

Sweet, I'm discussing my pits on the world wide web.

Wow, thanks for sharing all of your most intimate details! Sinuses, armpits...is this what I should be posting on my new blog?

Michelle - no... Not at all. I won't likely be posting too much of this type of stuff.

I just think both are semi-interesting topics that maybe aren't discussed too openly in our culture, but I am not ashamed to address them. I have pretty passionate opinions about both and I appreciate having a place to express them. But if I didn't have these strong opinions, you can be assured... I wouldn't be posting about them! :-)
