Do Something!

As part of the breakfast this morning, I made a pledge to tell people I know about Seattle Works! So here is some info!

_________________________________________________________

SEATTLE WORKS INFORMS, CONNECTS AND INSPIRES PEOPLE IN THEIR 20S AND 30S TO TAKE ACTION IN OUR COMMUNITY.

WE HOOK UP VOLUNTEERS
http://seattleworks.org/AboutUs/index.php/volunteer.html

Team Works participants take on four volunteer projects – one project per month – focused on four different issue areas with a fun group of 15 people.

Hot Projects are one-off volunteer opps without all that long-term commitment.

Gulf Coast Trips are intensive, week-long service opportunities that put you front and center in the post-Katrina rebuilding efforts. We’ll be facilitating three trips in 2008.

Corporate Service Projects enable you and your colleagues to take advantage of our expertise in managing team-based volunteer opportunities.

WE BUILD LEADERS

The Bridge prepares you for non-profit and public board service.

WE HELP YOU FLEX YOUR INFLUENCE http://www.seattleworks.org/AboutUs/index.php/influence.html

Speed Candidating - Tues 10/2 - puts you directly in touch with the candidates in a casual, fast-moving setting.

The Conversation connects emerging leaders with cool established community leaders for an informal dialogue on key issues facing our community. Comcast Conversations do the same thing - only you get to be on TV too!

Seattle Works Candidate Guide asks questions about the values our generation holds dear: accountability, transparency, innovation and action.

WE PLAN FABULOUS EVENTS
http://www.seattleworks.org/AboutUs/index.php/events.html

Emerald City Swank - Sat 10/2 - features dinner, silent and live auctions, a raffle and dancing

Seattle Works Day - June 08 - mobilizes teams of co-workers, friends and other social and professional groups at service projects throughout the city.
