Plastic = FAIL!

a little corny, but makes you rethink single-use plastic items that end up in the trash...

and on that note...

It may be "better" than the tap water in some third world country, but with all the chemicals, prescription drugs and other crap dumped into our water, you couldn't convince me to trade my purified water for any tap water. Actually, your Seattle tap water isn't too bad (as tap goes), but I'm convinced that Texas tap water causes Alzheimer's :) It definitely upsets my intestines.
Though I will mention that instead of buying 500 bottles per month, we now refill giant jugs at the grocery store and use glasses.

Amy - I totally agree. When it comes to making the "environmentally friendly" choice, it isn't always easy. And just because I post stuff like this doesn't mean I'm always good about reusing my non-chemical leeching water bottles or what not.

I started on this soapbox at work when we used to order tons of water bottles to give out to everyone who walked in the door. We have a commitment to being green, so when I started reading about how bad plastic water bottles are for the environment, we started getting water coolers and having guests use glasses too.

I think tap water is a whole separate and scary issue! I feel like the "giant jug" solution is a good one!
