EDIT: Got a little further and read this. I also noticed that Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah was the top song on iTunes not too long ago, but I assumed it had just appeared on a popular TV show or movie.

Jason on American Idol sang Hallelujah so I bet that put it high in the iTunes rankings. Fox isn't allowing the American Idol versions sold on iTunes to be in the rankings because it would "alter the results of the show."
One of my all-time favorite songs... it is so moving and powerful!
